A nice 15k last night with no interesting happenings. I tried to concentrate on keeping my stride and body running balanced. If that makes sense?. I felt really good till about 5k to go and then just slowed a little. In December I ran a 50k race and 3 days before the race I did a quick 8k in my taper down, felt really good and was flying. I broke out into a hard sprint home and about 100m from home my left knee went "OUCH" and I really regeted the injury. Even though I rested the next three days and felt good on race day at the 35k mark it came back and kicked me in the guts. So my plan is no sprinting 3 weeks before the race this time. Well 1 more long run this weekend and then the taper begins. I eat a little more, feel like crap because I put on weight and dont run as much.
Tonight rest then long run Saturday morning 29k+.
Me and pain we go way back !
